Position Title: Residential Supervision Officer
Location: CVCSCD-CCF/Bryant Blvd, Female Community Corrections Facility (CCF)

The Residential Supervision Officer works under the guidance of the Operations Manager and works at least 40 hours per week.  The Residential Supervision Officer is responsible for the supervision of residents in accordance with court ordered conditions of community supervision, CJAD standards, Interstate Compact regulations, and CVCSCD/residential policies and procedures.


  1. Prioritize all assignments and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  2. Alternate point of contact for referrals.
  3. Responsible for certain elements of the intake, orientation and discharge processes.
  4. Responsible for the completion and implementation of assessment tools such TRAS, PSI’s as well as the completion and implementation of supervision plans.
  5. Supervises transfer-in cases in compliance with CJAD standards, departmental policies/procedures and Interstate Compact regulations. Coordinates transfer-out cases.
  6. Maintains complete, accurate and timely records.
  7. Meets with each resident in individual session at least once a month and more frequently for those residents who are not progressing as scheduled.
  8. Makes jail/field visits as required.
  9. Prepares all court related documents and is present in court for resident related hearings.
  10. Makes recommendations related to residents as required by the Court.
  11. Obtains bench warrants for all absconders. Prepares expeditious violation reports for residents that are being unsuccessfully discharged.
  12. Imposes sanctions on residents as a result of rules/regulations violations.
  13. Attends and participates in resident progress and disciplinary hearings as well as administrative staff meetings.
  14. Responsible for collections and receipting of resident payments, including, but not limited to, program fees.
  15. May be required to transport residents to school, work, or other appointments.
  16. Reports any and all personnel problems to Facility Director/ Assistant Director.
  17. Is knowledgeable of and uses universal precautions when dealing with residents.
  18. Conducts self in a professional manner with colleagues in the criminal justice system, with offenders, with victims, and with the public.
  19. Complies with CJAD Standards; Residential Code of Ethics; Departmental policies and procedures
  20. Performs other duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Board in criminology, corrections, counseling, law, social work, psychology, sociology, or related field approved by the Community Justice Assistance Division (CJAD).
  • Two (2) years experience as a Community Supervision Officer preferred. If certification is not current, must pass probation officer’s certification exam within one (1) year of hire as probation officer as required by the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. Shall attend and successfully complete a CJAD approved education seminar that would satisfy CJAD standards in reference to a certified Residential Supervision Officer.
  • Must have knowledge of CJAD standards and Texas Criminal Procedure Code and Rules, Articles 42.12, 42.13. Will be required to attend a Residential Probation Officer Certification Program when available. May be required to attend Texas Risk Assessment Screening (TRAS) training, and/or other training opportunities related to the field of Community Supervision and Corrections.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position which may include bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment and equipment needed to assess residents.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability and training to administer CPR and/or first aid in an emergency situation
  • Have the ability to utilize a personal computer.
  • Be able to work independently and efficiently.
  • Possess skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License (if employee is coming to this position from
    another state, this requirement must be met no later than thirty days following date of employment).
  • Must have a telephone number at which they can be reached.
  • Must have access to an automobile in good repair that can be used while on duty.
  • Must maintain the appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Must maintain appropriate dress and appearance as indicated in Concho Valley Community Supervision and Corrections Department policies.


  • Strong attendance required due to intense supervision.
